Course objectives

The goals of this course are to delineate the fundamentals of disease mechanisms and advanced therapeutic strategies in the management of SLE.

In detail:

1) relevant disease mechanisms in drug discovery

2) key immune checkpoints in SLE targeted by old and novel drugs

3) treat-to-target strategy in SLE: what is it and why we need it

4) patient stratification and personalized treatment

Results of learning outcomes

At the end of the course the candidate will be able to:

- recognize SLE activity and damage (related to disease or treatment)

- understand the concept of T2T and its application in SLE

- understand the importance and principles of personalized treatment

- acknowlegde the molecular targets of most commonly used drugs in SLE

Program

Course information will be provided once the minimum enrolment quota is reached and the course is activated.

face to face lessons held in English over the 11 and 12th of July

Learning assessment methods

The teacher will be availble for questions both online and in presence.

A final quiz will be proposed (mutliple choice) focused on the major topics treated during the course.
