You will need to know:
- The classification of systemic vasculitis of large, medium and small vessels;
- The main pathogenetic mechanisms behind primitive and secondary systemic vasculitis;
- Clinical manifestations that allow to suspect systemic vasculitis;
- The instrumental and laboratory tests necessary to diagnose systemic vasculitis and to differentiate the different nosological entities;
- The instrumental and laboratory tests necessary for the monitoring of a patient suffering from systemic vasculitis;
- The main therapeutic approaches to systemic vasculitis and their possible side effects.
You must be able:
- Suspect systemic vasculitis and evaluate possible differential diagnoses;
- Require the necessary instrumental and laboratory tests to arrive at a diagnosis of systemic vasculitis;
- Manage the monitoring of a patient with systemic vasculitis to include the adverse effects of therapies;
- Identify the most appropriate therapies;
- Explain to the patient the advantages and disadvantages of different therapeutic approaches.
