How to Apply - ADMISSION 


In order to be admitted to the 1 year in the Medicine and Surgery degree program, students are required to pass a national admission test.
You can keep abreast of deadlines and news regarding the admission test by regularly checking the official MIUR website (Ministero dell'Istruzione e del Merito).

You can register to the IMAT test on the website www.universitaly.it. Please read the following instructions:

  • Set the website in English language by clicking on the British-flag button on the top-right corner
  • Once on the website, you will have to create an account. Follow the steps shown in "Why and How to register" (on the top-right corner)
  • After signing up, log in and click on "IMAT test - ISCRIZIONE"
  • Follow the on-screen instructions.

If you are a student from a non-EU country, you will be asked to provide additional documents, such as a transcript of records, a visa, etc. You can check the required additional documents in the Application for international students section at en.unito.it.

Students admitted to the degree programme in Medicine and Surgery have to upload on MyUnito copies of the following medical certificates along with other required registration documents:

  • compulsory and recommended vaccinations:
    • polio vaccine
    • diphtheria vaccine
    • tetanus vaccine
    • hepatitis B vaccine
    • measles vaccine
    • rubella vaccine

During the preventive medical examination, antibody levels will be checked. Further serology tests and vaccinations will be carried out where needed. For varicella (chickenpox), the assessment will be based on your medical history and the outcome of the disease.

  • tubercolin sensitivity test (Mantoux test) taken in the local ASL (Azienda Sanitaria Locale) or, alternatively, a QuantiFERON-TB blood test report

Only vaccine certificates in English or Italian will be accepted. If your vaccine certificate is in another language, you will need to provide a certified translation in English or Italian.


How to Apply - TRANSFER


Transfer is the admission to a specific course year other than first (e.g. Year 2, Year 3, etc.)
The Calls for transfer are published only in case one or more places are left vacant (e.g. if a student currently enrolled on the programme drops out).

Please refer to the call for transfer of the relevant academic year if/once it is published, as it provides a detailed explanation of who is eligible to apply for transfer, the number of available places, procedures, and deadlines.
