Course objectives
The aim of the Couse is the acquisition of the main concepts related to the principal drugs utilized in emergency, including pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic characteristics, indications, side effects and toxicity and drug interactions.

At end of this course, Students must have an appropriate knowledge about:
- categories of drugs commonly used in emergency, their therapeutic indications, side effects and toxicity;
- pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetic properties, clinical relapses of the major categories of drugs of emergency;
- the major classes of patients in whom same drugs are contraindicated or should be used with caution;
- categories of drugs that could interact with the main drugs of interest.

The course includes eight hours of frontal lectures.

Learning assessment methods
The assessment consist in a written test by Moodle: 15 multiple-choice questions, one or more correct (non-correct) answers. One point for each correct quiz, -0.33 for each incorrect quiz. It lasts 30 minutes.
