Course objectives
The objectives of the ADE "Pregnancy and Rheumatic Diseases" contribute to the attainment of the educational goal within the Medicine and Surgery curriculum. It equips students with the knowledge needed for practical application in clinical settings, enabling them to offer suitable preconception counseling to women who have rheumatological diseases and ensuring their proper care during pregnancy and the postpartum period. The course will also explore the topic of paternity testing for patients with rheumatological diseases.

At the end of the course, students will be able to:
- understand the possible course of rheumatological diseases during pregnancy and the postpartum period;
- recognize the main maternal and fetal complications of rheumatological diseases during pregnancy and postpartum;
- familiarize themselves with rheumatological therapies that are compatible with pregnancy, breastfeeding, and family planning;
- analyze the most recent Italian and international guidelines;
- discuss various clinical cases to apply the acquired knowledge.
