Students enrolled in Medicine and Surgery are required to work as interns for a certain amount of hours in different wards and areas of medical specialization. These "clerkships", as they are commonly called, are training opportunities designed to help obtain the practical skills that are essential for medical doctors.
Clerkships last either one or two weeks, depending on which one is chosen. Some clerkships are compulsory while others are optional. Optional clerkships are generally related to specialized branches of medicine and surgery.
The exact number of required hours and the schedule will be soon made available.
