Results of learning outcomes

At the end of the course "Advanced interpretation of the urine sediment" the students will know:

  • The parameters evaluated in the standard macroscopic and microscopic urine analysis and their significance
  • The laboratory methods for standard urine analysis including sample preparation for sediment examination
  • The difference between normal and abnormal urine sediment constituents.
  • The significant urinary sediment constituents associated with the most common renal diseases

The students will be able to:

  • Explain the principles of each test included in routine urinalysis.
  • Evaluate laboratory test outcomes.
  • Recognize the elements present in the urinary sediment
  • Correlate test results with patient condition(s).

Class schedule

Lessons: dal 28/06/2022 to 30/06/2022

Notes: Dear Students,
the Ade - Advanced Interpretation of the Urine Sediment[SCB0384] will be delivered as a “flipped classroom” according to the following agenda:

28/06/2022
30/06/2022
from h 14:30 to h 18:30

A flipped classroom is an instructional strategy and a type of blended learning that reverses the traditional learning environment by delivering instructional content, often online, outside of the classroom. It moves activities, including those that may have traditionally been considered homework, into the classroom. In a flipped classroom, students watch online lectures, collaborate in online discussions, or carry out research at home while engaging in concepts in the classroom with the guidance of a mentor.

The flipped classroom intentionally shifts instruction to a learner-centered model in which time in the classroom is used to explore topics in greater depth and create meaningful learning opportunities while students are initially introduced to new topics outside of the classroom. In a flipped classroom, 'content delivery' may take a variety of forms. Often, video lessons prepared by the teacher or third parties are used to deliver content, although online collaborative discussions, digital research, and text readings may be used.
